We're just hours away from packing up and heading to the b-e-a-utiful Caribbean beaches...and I couldn't be happier! :) Deciding to go back to work for a few days in between probably sounded like a good idea before...but it's felt like the longest four days EVER.
I've taken a look at the weather next week at each of the islands we'll be landing at. It looks like we might run into a little rain here-and-there...but we're okay with that. We've decided to pack the ponchos and walk the tours wet if we have to! I did visit one of my restaurants today, was talking with the manager about our honeymoon - then, mentioned the weather outlook. After only working with the company since April, his direct quote was: "You would look at the weather this far out." - Am I that easy to read?!
On a lighter note, last night at 7:09pm - we did make the first big purchase as Mr. & Mrs. Davis! :) We brought home our lovely Dyson vacuum!! As I told Amanda, I fell in love. It all stemmed from the lamps we received as a wedding gift. I went to open the box and got Styrofoam all over the place. I had to make a return at Target and told Eric that I wanted to pick up a hand vacuum while we were inside. He finally convinced me that instead of spending the $50 on the hand-vac...let's just dive in and buy the real-deal. While in Bed, Bath & Beyond, I tried to convince Eric to "stop and breathe in the moment" - but he was more focused on the ice cream stop we planned to hit on our way home. Hey, it's not everyday we married folks purchase vacuums! :)
Either way - the suitcases are now sitting in the middle of our living room...completely empty. Which is better than by the front door - on top of the millions of boxes we had left over from our amazing gifts. We've put together the pieces that needed it, and found homes for most of the gifts. We'll begin the thank you card immediately when we return...I'd pack them with me to write on the airplane, but I don't want to add to the 50 lb. limit we have for our bags!
I've written up a list of items "not to forget", as well as last minute stops before we leave. Needless to say, tomorrow will be a jam-packed day! But, we're so stinkin' excited! :)
We've now been married for 5 days...it doesn't feel any different - but it sure if fun saying "my husband"!
