Planning for Perfection

I wanted to post this separately from the last one - only because it's not as happy as before. As many of you know - I've not only counted down the days until our wedding, but I've also counted down the days until the Weather Channel had a forecast for September 5th. And, again, as most of you know - we're crossing our fingers for an outside ceremony.

Several things have to plan out to make this work. First of all, it can't rain. Second of all, it can't pour, storm or even drizzle. I think you get my point. Sure, we have a lovely back-up in case my worst nightmare were to come true - but when you've been planning for something to happen for over a year, you want it to stay that way. I've always pictured us having a fall wedding, ceremony outdoors - but I'm just not ready to let that dream go away.

And, it doesn't look like Mother Nature is in for it with me. Right now, Friday the 4th looks horrible. With a 60% chance of rain, we should just plan on getting wet. Now, that doesn't mean the 5th is just as bad - but it's not pretty. Obviously, we won't be able to have the ceremony on any sort of soggy ground. Nothing we have planned would pan out in soggy grass. We do have the option - that if the ground is too wet, but the weather is nice - to have our ceremony on the back deck (which has an equally beautiful look and backdrop). Again, when you really want something to be - it's hard to get the image out of your mind.

Therefore, as of this evening - the outlook for Saturday, September 5th calls for:

- High: 79 degrees
- Low: 60 degrees
- Day: Scattered Storms
- Night: Partly Cloudy
- Precipitation (Day): 30%
- Precipitation (Night): 20%

I can't really explain how I feel at this point. Honestly, I'm hoping their meteorologists are just flat-out wrong. Maybe not on the temperatures, but is a 30% chance of storms necessary?! Right now, to keep myself from breaking down, I'm just going to play the wait-and-see game, and continue to pray.

You're probably laughing at me - saying it's too far out to even decide what the weather will be like...and the fact that we do have a backup...but, I just want it to be perfect. I want our day to be perfect - from beginning to end. I have no fear, whatever comes our way, we'll make it our day. Come rain or come shine. It's just hard to give in when you're planning for perfection.

8 days, 2 hours, 16 minutes and 25 seconds
