First things first - we're almost done with anything "floral". Which means - Mom has finished up the flowers for the Grandmothers, Moms and cake-topper. We have a few items to finish up on the bridal bouquets - but that's almost a last-minute effort. The arch is still in progress. By that, I mean, we've got the idea - just haven't put it together.
For those who are familiar - it's not really an arch at all. In fact, it doesn't arch. Back when Eric and I first decided we were going to use the grassy area at Laurel Hall for our ceremony (which really Eric had nothing to do with...and, he told me I could say that!), I knew I wanted something to set us apart from the line of trees. I instantly remembered a picture I found and decided it would be perfect. Therefore, last summer Mom and I bought a similar arch - which, yes, is white. (I've secretly hinted to Mom and Dad that I'd like to spray paint it ivory, but my hints aren't working...) Mom decided she could create floral arrangements on top - in all of our fall colors. This is the picture of our inspiration:
Sticking with Laurel Hall - she's paid for! Completely. No turning back now! Wednesday morning I'm headed to meet Jamie from Cunningham Restaurant Group (as a reminder, that's our caterer!) for a walk-through on table, bar, ceremony, etc. setup. Jamie has been wonderful since the day we booked CRG! Each month since the booking, she's sent me an email - checking up to make sure there was or wasn't anything she could do. Finally, I was able to respond with lots of questions! When I mentioned a visit to Laurel Hall - Jamie jumped on the opportunity.
To go along with CRG, we decided to wait another week for the final two invitation responses. The weekend came and went - and still no response. Eric's mom is contacting both tonight and hopefully we'll know the final-final number within the next few days. If everyone ends up joining us for The Big Day - we'll hit the huge number of 115 guests! The more I see that number the more it's perfect. We didn't want a huge wedding guest list - probably because our families are big enough for any party! :)
And, speaking of the party - we're finally finished with the Reception Playlist! Just a couple days past our personal deadline - and a few more past DJ Ryan's. We're hoping to meet with DJ Ryan (and his wife!) sometime next week. I told Eric, I think our playlist is so cool that I'm going to make him a CD...he didn't really care so much for my idea...
Regarding attire - yes, the boys are still in brown. Like it or not, Dad. Not sure if I've shared - but as part of my "Something Old" - I've decided to wear my Mom's veil. It has a very similar detail as my dress. Of course, when she wore it - 25 years ago! - it was white. Over the years, it's faded and now matches my dress very well. For the short ceremony - it's perfect!
It's crazy to think how close we are! I swear, I blinked - and all of a sudden we're just weeks away! This is such a good feeling! :)
